Concept project
Salaca guesthouse: concept
The brief
A small guesthouse by a river in northern Vidzeme. Guests arrive from Riga and abroad, usually booking on a phone the week before. The owner wants to answer three questions fast: where is it, what does a room cost, and can I ask something before booking?
What we had to work with
- Mostly used on phones, often on a weak signal.
- English and Latvian, equally finished.
- No online booking engine, bookings arrive as an enquiry.
- Photos must tell the story without making pages heavy.

Design decisions
Prices sit on the room page, not behind a form.
Guests decide faster when the number is next to the photo.
The enquiry form asks for five things.
Dates, guests, a name, an email, a question. Nothing else stands between a guest and the owner.
Both languages from day one.
The language switch keeps the guest on the same page.
Built static. Checked on a phone. Accessible to WCAG AA.
